Straighten Up was founded in 2004 because I love helping people. When people feel better about their living and working spaces, lots of other things start feeling better too! My goal is to bring comfort, hope and change the lives of people who are stressed from clutter and disorganization.
I have a natural affinity for people, simplicity, and order. A lifetime of experience as a caregiver, registered nurse, and small business owner have given me insight, assessment skills, empathy, intuitiveness and a particular sensitivity to challenges that people may be facing. I work with my clients in a way that is designed to meet their individual needs- providing support, encouragement, and guidance.
I have earned the title of Chronic Disorganization Specialist through the National Study Group for Chronic Disorganization (now the ICD: Institute for Challenging Disorganization). Because I want to provide the best possible assistance to my clients I have also studied: ADD, learning styles, safety, physical and medical challenges, grief, depression, family dynamics, aging, and resources.
I live in the beautiful countryside of central NY. In addition to my professional organizer self, I am a wife, mom to 2 wonderful children and a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, a Master Gardener, Stephen Ministry Leader, “retired’ registered nurse. I love walking country roads, reading and puttering around in my kitchen baking or preserving garden goodies for the long winters.
